BTPS Western Region @ Warrumbungles Holiday Camp

On the 26th and the 27th of May 2010, clients and staff from the Dubbo and Coonabarabran Break Thru People Solutions offices travelled to the historical Warrumbungles Holiday Camp for a two day/one night adventure.

Clients from a range of programs - including Transition to Work, Community Participation and Life Choices - got to explore the wonders of the Warrumbungles National Park and get involved in a range of activities to develop teamwork, creativity and provide a great social outing.

Our first session was a drama class with participants exploring various means of expression, word play and interaction. The next activity was a team building challenge course: 3 teams of five worked through various challenges including The Human Knot, Balance Buddies, Line-Up, Minefield and Circle Work. Following afternoon tea everybody got a chance to create rock paintings lead by a local aboriginal elder. A roast dinner and dessert was eagerly received, and then there was a choice of watching the first State of Origin match or grooving to the tunes of DJ Wil.

The second day we split in to two groups for a bushwalk in the spectacular Warrumbungles National Park before meeting up for delicious BBQ lunch before heading home.

Thanks to all staff and clients who made it possible and we are all looking forward to doing it all again soon!
